Kazakh, Russian Presidents hold telephone conversation

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The Head of State congratulated Vladimir Putin on the outcome of his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Anchorage, noting that the talks contributed to a better understanding by the American side of Russia’s position on Ukraine, which will help find common ground on this complex issue. President Tokayev considers the summit in Alaska a breakthrough event in terms of strengthening Russia’s international position and fostering mutual understanding on the global stage. For his part, Vladimir Putin briefed his counterpart on specific aspects of the negotiations held in Alaska.
