Kazakhstan and Finland are set to further
develop bilateral relations, including in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian
spheres. This was discussed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President
of Finland Alexander Stubb during a meeting on the sidelines of the 29th Conference
of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
(UNFCCC) in Azerbaijan. The leaders highlighted the successful implementation
of joint projects with the participation of Finnish companies in
pharmaceuticals, industrial machine building, and engineering. Furthermore, the
parties agreed on mutual visits, which will provide new impetus for
strengthening the political and economic partnership between Astana and
Helsinki. President Tokayev has invited the President of Guinea-Bissau Umaro
Sissoco Embaló to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan, emphasizing that this
country is one of of Kazakhstan’s significant partners on the African continent
and there are good prospects for further cooperation. Despite the geographical
distance, the two countries can expand cooperation in the fields of
agriculture, logistics, and information and communication technologies, the
Head of State noted.
