Kazakh President expresses condolences over market blast in Armenia

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram with his condolences to Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The Head of State expressed sympathy to the relatives and close people of the dead and injured citizens in the fireworks blast at the Surmalu market in Yerevan.

Earlier today, Armenia declared two days of mourning for the market blast victims. The corresponding decision was published on the government’s website. According to the recent data, 16 people were killed in the explosion and 62 citizens were seriously injured. Two people are reported missing. According to Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations, search and rescue works are still underway.
