Kazakh President briefed on Akmola region’s development

The Akmola region is set to strengthen its position as the leader of Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector, having increased the area of highly profitable crops, including oilseeds, by 2.5 times. Gross agricultural output this year is expected to reach 1.2 trillion tenge. Governor Marat Akhmetzhanov reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the socio-economic development of the Akmola region for the first half of the year and development prospects today. The President was also briefed on investment projects, particularly the creation of the AQMOLA industrial zone of national significance and an investment portfolio worth more than $4 billion. Following the meeting, Tokayev issued several instructions, including ensuring an organized harvesting campaign and further enhancing the region’s investment potential.
