Kazakh PM reviews infrastructure in Kostanai region

The Kostanai region is set to increase its electricity production tenfold. Three wind power plants with a capacity of 150 MW will be built in the region. Over the next three years, a total of six new renewable energy projects will be implemented, with a combined capacity of 1.2 GW. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov reviewed progress on the President's directives to develop the region's transport and energy infrastructure. He also learned about plans to modernize the region's heating systems. Road infrastructure is also being improved. The Center-West highway will connect Astana to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route via Arkalyk, Turgai, and Irgiz. The project involves constructing a modern highway that meets international standards, with a daily capacity of 3,000 vehicles.

«This project, implemented under the President's instruction, is crucial for the country and the Turgai region, so it must be handled with the utmost responsibility. Work should begin within a month and be carried out quickly and efficiently. The new road will create business opportunities and give a fresh boost to the region's development. Therefore, it is essential to carry out the necessary work jointly with the ministry,» Bektenov said.
