Kazakh Prime Minister
Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with experts on economic development, priority
sectors, and external risks. The experts presented an assessment of the current
situation and forecasts for national economic growth, taking into account
global trends and market conditions. The participants also reviewed proposals
on sectoral modernization, attracting investment, and developing domestic
production, as well as measures to contain inflation and increase electricity
generation to support AI development. Special attention was given to tax reform
and the importance of a transition period. According to the government’s
decision, taxpayers who exceeded the value-added tax (VAT) registration threshold
will not face administrative liability. In addition, penalties and fines will
be waived upon repayment of the principal debt by April 1. Following the
meeting, Bektenov instructed relevant government agencies to review the
experts’ proposals and continue cooperating with the expert community.
