Kazakh PM discusses economic growth with experts

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with experts on economic development, priority sectors, and external risks. The experts presented an assessment of the current situation and forecasts for national economic growth, taking into account global trends and market conditions. The participants also reviewed proposals on sectoral modernization, attracting investment, and developing domestic production, as well as measures to contain inflation and increase electricity generation to support AI development. Special attention was given to tax reform and the importance of a transition period. According to the government’s decision, taxpayers who exceeded the value-added tax (VAT) registration threshold will not face administrative liability. In addition, penalties and fines will be waived upon repayment of the principal debt by April 1. Following the meeting, Bektenov instructed relevant government agencies to review the experts’ proposals and continue cooperating with the expert community.
