Kazakhstan will attract $1.3 billion from three
international banks. The funds will strengthen the country’s economic
resilience and ensure a balanced fiscal policy. They will be provided by the
Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB),
and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The
corresponding agreements were approved by the Senate, an upper house of the
Kazakh Parliament. According to lawmakers, the loans will also ensure the
fulfillment of all state obligations under the national budget. Specifically,
the funds will be directed towards infrastructure development, the social
sector, the transport sector, and other key areas.
«The agreements considered were developed with the aim of
implementing important projects. We hope that, in the future, these laws will
contribute to maintaining socio-economic stability and the further
implementation of the country’s key strategic priorities for economic
development,» said Senate Chairperson Maulen Ashimbayev.
