Kazakh oil exports from the Aktau
port have increased. Over a 10-month period, 2.8 million tonnes of oil were shipped
from the port, which is a two-fold increase compared to the same period last
year, according to the national operator of the country’s main oil pipeline. Particularly,
the volume of oil transportation to the Baku port exceeded 1.1 million tonnes,
and surpassed 1.5 million tonnes to the Makhachkala port. It is worth reminding
that in 2022, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to increase the
volume of oil transportation along the Trans-Caspian corridor. Accordingly, the
oil companies of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement. Thus, 1.5
million tonnes of oil will be transported from the Tengiz field to the
Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline per year.
