Car production in
Kazakhstan is setting new records. In October alone, the number of assembled
cars exceeded 13,000 units, achieving historic highs and surpassing September
figures by 22 percent. Compared to October 2022, the growth has more than
doubled. Overall, over the first 10 months of this year, 113,000 cars were
manufactured in the country, according to experts of the First Credit Bureau.
It is worth noting that by the end of the first half of 2023, the automotive
industry’s production in value terms amounted to 847.5 billion tenge, compared
to 507 billion tenge in the same period last year. The growth of output in real
terms reached significant 40 percent. Analysts believe that this figure will
continue to rise in the future due to the commenced construction of a new car
plant in Kostanai. The project, with a planned capacity of 70,000 cars per
year, is slated for launch in 2025. Overall, the share of automotive production
in machinery has already reached 45 percent, which means that it remains a key
driver of the sector and a robust engine for the overall industrial development
in Kazakhstan.
