Ordering and purchasing coal through popular marketplaces and banking applications - such options for the sale of solid fuel for the convenience of Kazakh residents are now being worked out in the country. The issues of providing the population with coal were discussed at the Government’s meeting, where it was noted that a pilot project in this direction had already been launched in the Kostanai region.
“This is a great digital solution, convenient for consumers. It is possible to order coal online. It is necessary to carry out appropriate explanatory work on the ground,” said Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, over the first eight months of 2022, Kazakhstan produced over 73.5 million tonnes of coal. This is six percent more than in the same period last year. Also, in order to prevent the price increases, a six-month restriction was imposed on exporting coal out of the country by road and measures were taken to ensure its uninterrupted transportation.
