On the instruction of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, domestic farmers will again receive state support. The country’s government has allocated over 31 billion tenge to purchase wheat from farmers affected by adverse weather conditions this year. Particularly, the funds will be utilized to purchase 350,000 tonnes of grain of the fourth and fifth classes as well as non-class wheat. As of today, harvesting of grain crops in the country has been completed on 17 million hectares, with more than 16.5 million tonnes of grain threshed, including about 11 million tonnes of wheat. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the domestic market and export of grain, including flour. In 2023, the government allocated almost half a trillion tenge for subsidizing agriculture with an additional 60 billion tenge from the reserve for subsidizing crop and livestock production. Besides, 100 billion tenge was allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the Auyl Amanaty program.
