Kazakh companies signed contracts
valued at $28 million to export flour, egg noodles, confectionery, vegetable
oils and feed to China during a business mission in Wuhan, Hubei province.
According to the Trade Policy Development Center, China has been among Kazakhstan’s
top trade partners since May, with mutual trade turnover reaching an all-time
high of over $24 billion last year. In the seven months of 2023, the figure
exceeded $16 billion. The countries are set to bring mutual trade to $40
billion in the coming years. As Kazakh food is the most in-demand product on
the Chinese market, Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports through 135
commodities worth more than $1 billion, including organic agricultural products
and food.
