Kazakh government launches plan to explain Constitution

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov ordered the integration of new constitutional provisions into the curricula of schools, colleges, and universities nationwide. Speaking at a government meeting, Bektenov also emphasized the need to develop a comprehensive system for fostering legal literacy among the population. He noted that systematic public information and outreach efforts are already underway on the amendments to the country’s Basic Law, involving experts and civil society representatives, and stressed that this pace must be maintained. Bektenov also instructed the government to complete a review of existing legislation and align it with the provisions of the new Constitution.

«The comprehensive review of existing legislation and the updating of all current laws and policy documents in line with the provisions of the new Constitution must be completed within the established deadlines. I instruct all central and local executive authorities to ensure the implementation of the Action Plan,» said Bektenov.
