In Kazakhstan, plans are underway
to conduct major repairs on 10 power units, 55 boilers, and 45 turbines at
power plants this year, in preparation for the upcoming heating season.
Overall, reconstruction and modernization efforts will cover nearly 21,000
kilometers of power networks and 423 high-voltage substations. Repairs to
heating networks will involve 541 kilometers of utilities. The Kazakh
government discussed the readiness of infrastructure for the autumn-winter
season. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov gave specific instructions to the
Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Industry and Construction to enhance
oversight of the timeliness and quality of the repair campaign for heat sources
and networks. All engineering infrastructure in the central, northern, and
eastern regions must be prepared by mid-September, and in other areas by
October 15th.
«For successful preparation for
the upcoming autumn-winter period of 2024-2025, it is essential to ensure that
repair works are carried out fully and on schedule, without reducing the
planned scope of repairs, including those for buildings and structures.
Additionally, a required reserve of fuel and spare parts must be established at
energy sources. The Ministry of Energy, together with central and local
executive bodies, will continue monitoring the progress of preparations for the
heating season in the regions,» said Kazakh Minister of Energy Almassadam
Satkaliyev.
