Kazakhstan may become the largest
ferroalloy producer, with a plant set to be built in the Pavlodar region. The
project’s investment is expected to exceed 113 billion tenge, and the plant’s
capacity will amount to 80,000 tonnes of products per year. The plant is
scheduled to commence operations in 2025. As a result, ferrosilicon exports to
Japan, South Korea, the U.S., Turkey, and European countries will see a boost.
Today, a meeting of the State Commission on the Issues of Modernization of the
Economy of Kazakhstan, chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov,
discussed the further development of oil fields and updates to the
Comprehensive Privatization Plan for 2021-2025.
