Several more renewable energy
facilities will appear in Kazakhstan. According to the administration of the Kyzylorda
region, a land plot has been allocated for the construction of a solar station worth
12 billion tenge. Overall, there are nine such facilities with a capacity of 88
megawatts operating in the region, including three with the participation of
foreign investors from the UK, France and Russia. Meanwhile, China plans to
launch a wind farm in the Zhetysu region. The project with a capacity of 50 megawatts
is estimated at 23.5 billion tenge. Three more renewable energy facilities will
also appear in the region. Kazakh businesspeople have invested in the launch of
hydroelectric power plants. A Chinese company said it’s ready to build another 1-gigawatt
wind farm in the Zhambyl region.
