Kazakh Film Week is taking place in Berlin. The cultural event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Germany. The first movie that was presented to the German audience was the historical drama ‘Tomiris’ directed by Akan Satayev. The film about the queen of the Massagetae and Cyrus the Great gathered a full hall of spectators delighted by the acting. During the Kazakh Film Week, there will also be screenings of the movies ‘Baluan Sholak’ directed by Nurgeldi Sadygulov, ‘The Way Home’ by Rashid Suleimenov, animated film ‘Muzbalak’ by Tlek Toleugazy and Turdybek Maidan and others.
“I just watched the movie and I want to say that I’m impressed with it. I especially liked the battle scenes, because I know how difficult it is to shoot them, to work with stuntmen and organize the whole process. It is an incredible work and a great opportunity to immerse yourself in history and see such a strong female character. And, of course, I really liked the costumes,” said Theresa Klamann, a film producer.
“Our goal is to show our traditions, customs and rich culture through cinema. In general, we plan to organize a number of other cultural events in this anniversary year for our countries - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations,” opined Dauren Karipov, Kazakh Ambassador to Germany.
