The national
stage of the prestigious international Sanremo Junior competition commenced for
the first time in Kazakhstan. The
winner, who will receive the Grand Prix, will represent the country at the
global singing contest among children and adolescents in Italy next April. At
least 10 children in three age categories will be able to go to the competition
to represent the country: 6 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 to 15 age categories. The
other nine participants, who are laureates of the first, second, and third
places in their age categories, will take part in the final show on the Italian
stage. The participants will be given 15 minutes to impress the audience. The
event organizers also briefed on the format of the national stage, comprising
three parts. The first selection stage will be held online, the second one in
an offline format. Only 50 young performers from across Kazakhstan will advance
to the offline selection, following which the participants for the final stage
of the competition will be determined.
“An essential
requirement of Sanremo Junior competition is the performance of all soloists
with a symphony orchestra. Therefore, world-renowned singles will certainly be
performed by our young singers. Our task is to provide all necessary material.
Kazakh young performers are given a great opportunity to perform at such a
prestigious competition. On March 2, we are planning to invite them to the
Palace of Peace and Harmony for a rehearsal, and on March 3 hold an official
performance, a television show,” said Aiman Mussakhajayeva, rector of the
Kazakh National University of Arts.
