The Kazakh-Croatian business forum took place in Astana,
bringing together more than 20 representatives of Croatian companies from
sectors including agriculture, tourism, finance, construction, pharmaceuticals,
and education. The Croatian delegation expressed strong interest in expanding
partnerships, highlighting Kazakhstan’s favorable business environment and rich
resources. Kazakhstan and Croatia recorded bilateral trade exceeding $280 million
in 2024, with Kazakhstan accounting for over $253 million of that figure. Oil
and petroleum products remain the main exports to Croatia, a key partner of
Kazakhstan in the Balkan region. Energy cooperation was emphasized as a top
priority.
«We are a company involved in chemical products for oil and
gas industry, specifically upstream oil and gas industry. It is for us really
huge potential and huge opportunity to establish connections, investigate
opportunities, identify the key potential players in this market and try to
establish us as a potential service provider for local companies and
producers,» said Hrvoje Jenei, a member of the Croatian business delegation.
«Bilateral cooperation issues were discussed, particularly
in the fields of energy and transportation. The Croatian side is interested in
the supply of Kazakh oil and petroleum products, and we view it as a promising
market for expanding our exports, not only in oil and gas, but in other sectors
as well,» said Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov.
