Meteorologists have predicted above-average
temperatures for a number of regions of Kazakhstan this summer. Such forecasts come
with concerns about the drought consequences that could arise from the current extensive
flooding. According to specialists, climate change may lead to wildfires in
many parts of the country. Therefore, Kazhydromet will provide regular regional
analyses. It is worth reminding that the fire season typically spans from May
to October.
“Monitoring of fire hazards will
be conducted every day. Forecasts will be made for the coming decade, week, and
several days ahead. Storm warnings will be issued when there is a risk of 4-5
class fires. They will be available on the Kazhydromet website and delivered to
people via SMS messages,” said Zhuldyz Issabekova, head of the long-term
weather forecasts department at Kazhydromet.
