Kazakh actor Bakhyt Khajibayev received an
award at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in China. He
won in the Best Actor category for his leading role in the film «Operation
Nabat.» The
competition featured 20 films from 10 countries, evaluated by a respected
international jury. The Kazakh
film is based on real events and tells the story of a bus hijacking with 30
hostages in February 1992. Thanks to the professionalism of Kazakhstan’s
security forces, the operation ended without casualties.
