Head of State visits stables of Presidential Affairs Department

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the stables of the Presidential Administration to personally check the conditions in which horses gifted to him in different years are kept. The Head of State noted on his Instagram account that a year ago an Akhal-Teke colt born in Astana was named Akzhan. The horse is distinguished by a rare Isabella coat, a light coloration with white-pink tones, and, according to specialists, also possesses a high level of intelligence. The Head of State regularly finds time to visit the stables and personally feeds the horses, including four Arabian stallions recently presented as a gift from Qatar.

«A few months ago, a light-brown colt joined our Akhal-Teke horses, which I named Akniet. Specialists well-versed in horse breeding believe that, in the future, the animal will be able to perform at a high level and achieve victories in international competitions. The Kazakh people have always held horses in special reverence, calling them the «wings of a zhigit». Therefore, it is important to further develop equestrian sports and widely promote respect for this noble animal,» President Tokayev noted.

The Akhal-Teke breed is considered one of the oldest riding horse breeds in the world, with a history spanning several millennia. These horses are renowned for their exceptional endurance and ability to cover long distances in harsh climatic conditions. They are distinguished by a fine-boned build, a long neck, a high withers, and smooth, graceful movements. A special value of the breed is its characteristic metallic sheen of the coat, which is why Akhal-Tekes are often referred to as «golden horses». Experts also note their high intelligence, loyalty to their owner, and outstanding athletic abilities, making the Akhal-Teke one of the most prestigious horse breeds in the world.
