Two major investment projects totaling more than 330 billion
tenge have been approved in Kazakhstan. Both initiatives will be implemented in
the agro-industrial sector and are aimed at enhancing food security, promoting
import substitution, and expanding the production of high value-added goods.
The Investment Headquarters approved the terms of agreements with Turkish
companies. The investments will be used to build facilities for advanced grain
processing, as well as for the production of fertilizers and pesticides. The
first facility is expected to produce 250,000 tonnes of processed wheat and
80,000 tonnes of peas annually. The second will have an annual capacity of
150,000 tonnes of products. According to the government, Kazakhstan harvests
16-17 million tonnes of grain each year, with one-third exported. The remaining
volume supports the development of domestic processing and contributes to the
sustainable growth of the agricultural sector.
