Investment in Shymkent’s fixed assets totals 360 billion tenge

Since the beginning of the year, investment in fixed assets in Shymkent has increased by one third, reaching 360 billion tenge. Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the city’s development. Industrial production is actively expanding, with output reaching 680 billion tenge since the start of the year. To further increase the city’s industrial potential, new zones, Zhuldyz and Bozaryk, have been launched. The number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the city is also growing, now exceeding 139,000. The construction sector is developing actively as well, with more than 517,000 square meters of housing commissioned over the past months. The southern bypass road and two major transport interchanges have also been put into operation. The Head of State instructed to strengthen support for SMEs, accelerate construction of a new airport runway, and continue efforts to attract investment.
