The final stage of the International Tourism Film Festival «Wonder of the World» (Divo Mira) is currently underway in Astana, fostering the development of tourism potential and the creative industry. The event has brought together over a hundred videographers and smartphone filmmakers from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Iran, and the Kyrgyz Republic. Their task is to capture the natural beauty and landscapes of their homelands in their works. A special jury, consisting of experts from the tourism industry, marketing, mass media, and video blogging, will assess the videos, documentaries, and short films submitted by the finalists. According to representatives from the Astana Development Center, which supports the organization of the contest, the Kazakh capital is actively developing tourism. Last year alone, the city welcomed over 1.32 million guests, with foreign tourists accounting for a quarter of that number.
«Organizing «Wonder of the World» for the
second year, this time, we are holding the first stage in Kazakhstan. Tourism
videos are quite specific, and it’s not easy to make them in a way that truly
inspires people to visit a particular tourist destination, country, or region,»
Sergey Krivtsov, organizer of the International Tourism Film Festival «Wonder of
the World», said.
«We are currently promoting our domestic
tourism and showcasing the beauty of Kazakhstan. So, this film festival is
particularly interesting as it provides an opportunity to demonstrate the
uniqueness of our country. There will be around eight categories, each with its
own subcategories such as industrial, events, cultural heritage, information
centers, as well as sacred and gastronomic tourism. The city of Almaty is
famous for its national parks, while Karagandy is known for its sacred sites,» Zhazira
Zhankina, co-organizer of the International Tourism Film Festival «Wonder of the
World», said.
