High-tech industrial drones are set to be produced in Kazakhstan, with a Chinese company planning to invest about $12 million in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) production. The project was presented in the capital. The construction of the facility is scheduled to begin this year, and by next year, a full production cycle is expected to be established. The project includes the creation of an industrial and research area spanning 50,000 square meters. It will feature a workshop for the production of batteries, full-cycle machine storage, a test site for aircraft, and a research center for innovative technologies. The center’s primary objectives are conducting analysis and training. Notably, the Chinese company produces up to 50 types of drones for a wide range of applications. The drones will be supplied to both the domestic market and Central Asian countries.
«The development of the drone manufacturing industry is one of the key strategic priorities for our country. UAVs are utilized in agriculture to assess environmental pollution levels and monitor emergency situations. They enable tracking of forest fires, air and water pollution, as well as the monitoring of water levels. Additionally, drones assist emergency services in identifying hazardous areas, coordinating evacuation efforts, and delivering necessary equipment,» said Alibi Daulet, Project Manager of the Kazakh Invest national company.
«The company has been manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles since 2015, and they are widely used in the Chinese province of Xinjiang. The climate in this agricultural region is similar to that of Kazakhstan, making it an ideal location for using drones to improve local agriculture. We have conducted research into the local market and are confident that demand for these drones will be high. The company plans to produce all types of UAVs currently manufactured in China in your country,» noted Chu Qi, CEO of the drone manufacturing company in Kazakhstan.
