Ensuring economic growth and improving the
living standards of Kazakh citizens are the main priorities of the government for
the upcoming period, as stated by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a
meeting on the implementation of the instructions given by President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at an extended government session. Ministers and governors
must make prompt decisions and take full responsibility for accomplishing the
assigned tasks. Bektenov emphasized that concrete results are expected in each
area outlined by the Head of State. He also noted the need to focus on the
balanced distribution of the state budget across priority sectors. Department
heads reported on plans to ensure the growth of economic sectors, enhance the
legal framework for investors, develop the rare earth metals industry, and
modernize the country’s engineering, transport, logistics, and road
infrastructure.
«Last year, the total volume of transit
through Kazakhstan increased by 39 percent compared to 2023, reaching five
million tonnes, with transit from China growing by 67 percent. To maintain the
dynamics of further growth, the following measures will be implemented:
expanding the list of countries with a non-permission road transport system,
developing an electronic format for foreign bank permits, simplifying customs
procedures at the border with China, and introducing a unified transport
document for multimodal transportation. Regarding infrastructure for road
carriers, this year, construction and repair work will cover 9,500 kilometers,»
noted Kazakh Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev.
«The investment volume from just 10 large
companies amounts to about 41 billion tenge in geological exploration, covering
the study of more than 25,000 square kilometers. To strengthen the
institutionalization and transparency of the reformed base, a unified platform
for subsoil users was launched last year. Since its launch, 506 applications
from subsoil users have already been processed, and the acceptance of paper
applications has been fully suspended,» said Kazakh Minister of Industry and
Construction Kanat Sharlapaev.
