Global interest in Kazakhstan as new tourist destination grows

Kazakhstan is garnering increasing interest worldwide as a new tourist destination. According to experts, foreign tourists are primarily drawn to the country’s natural diversity, the blend of nomadic cultural heritage with modern achievements, and, of course, its unique spirit of hospitality. Naresh Shandili, a tourist from India, believes that Kazakhstan offers fascinating attractions and unforgettable experiences for everyone. Visiting Almaty for the second time, he is captivated by the city’s unique atmosphere.

«We love Almaty. It is a good place and people are very nice, also friendly people. And I will come again with my family. This time I came with my friends. And they all enjoy it here,» Shandili shared.

In addition to travelers from India, Kazakhstan is actively welcoming visitors from China, Italy, the UK, and Middle Eastern countries. Statistics show that the Almaty mountain cluster is the most popular site among foreign travelers. Nevertheless, experts note that Kazakhstan also offers appealing locations for beach vacations.

«We have several attractive locations in our country that we could develop. Primarily, this includes the Caspian Sea coastline. There are also the lakes in northern Kazakhstan, along with Lake Balkhash, and of course, Lake Alakol, which is currently undergoing active development,» said Assem Kozbagarova, director of a tour operator for domestic and inbound tourism.

According to the World Economic Forum, Kazakhstan has improved its ranking in the Travel and Tourism Development Index. Thus, the country has climbed 14 places and now ranks 52nd out of 119 states.
