A book entitled “The fate and legacy of Shokan Ualikhanov” was presented at the museum of the Kazakh scientist, traveler and ethnographer in the Shokan village, Zhetisu region. It took Zharas Yermekbayev 30 years to write it. The author visited several countries to get acquainted with rare archives telling about Shokan’s life.
“It was the most meticulous work. It was very difficult to write about our great ancestor. There is not a lot of materials. I had to travel to the libraries of many CIS countries. I read the huge old volumes written in the ancient language. In a word, it was hard. Nevertheless, I hope that my book will find its reader,” the author of the book said.
