Foreign media on SCO summit in Kazakhstan

These days, global attention is focused on the capital of Kazakhstan. According to an article on the CGTN website, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has become a model of a new type of international organization, promoting new international relations and a community with a shared future for humanity.

The leading American magazine The Diplomat notes that the accession of Belarus to the SCO will mark the beginning of a new stage of development and expand the Organization’s geographical boundaries. The summit in Astana will conclude the three-year process of Belarus joining the SCO.

As emphasized at Türkiye’s oldest English-language daily, Hürriyet Daily News, the SCO Summit in Astana will help build more consensus among all parties and make contributions to promoting security, stability, and development of all SCO member states.

The Chinese newspaper Global Times writes that President Xi Jinping’s visit to Kazakhstan will outline a new framework for relations between China and Central Asian countries. China is a key player in the system of international relations.

«The visit to Kazakhstan - the country where Xi made his first foreign visit in 2022 since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and proposed the Silk Road Economic Belt, an essential component of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013 - underscores the rock-solid bilateral relationship and the high level of political trust built between the two countries and led by head-of-state diplomacy, and that the Central Asian region is of significant importance to China’s foreign policy,» Global Times reports.
