Foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan increased to US$7 billion in the first quarter of 2022. According to the country`s National Bank, in the same period of 2020, the inflow of capital amounted to just over US$4 billion. The Netherlands and United States have contributed the most funds, nearly US$2 billion each. South Korea, Turkey, Belgium also direct their investments to the state. Switzerland have invested US$663 million, Russia – US$498.5 million and China more than US$310 million. In terms of industries, the foreign entrepreneurs prefer to invest in the mining and manufacturing industries, such as trade, construction, transport and warehousing sectors.
