Filming of the historical series about the Golden Horde, ‘The
Golden Empire’, is nearing completion in Kazakhstan. The final scenes, being shot
in the Zhetisu region, depict the intertwining fates of the characters and
bring closure to the storylines. Each location adds to the atmosphere of the
ancient era. Kazakh State Counsellor Erlan Karin has recently visited the set
and discussed the approach to the series finale and post-production with the
creative team. The English-language documentary series consists of six
episodes. The international project is being implemented by the Karga Seven
Pictures and with the support of the Dara Foundation of Presidential Initiatives.
The series tells the story of the Golden Horde through the life of Jochi Khan.
Filming of ‘The Golden Empire’ has taken place at eight picturesque and unique
locations across Kazakhstan, from the Kazakhfilm studio to the Kimasar gorge, Tamgaly
tas, and the atmospheric City of Nomads.
