Kazakh films continue to gain international recognition. The film «Bauryna salu» directed by Askhat Kuchincherekov was again in the spotlight at a festival in France. The movie received the Special Jury Prize at the Cinema Heritage Festival, which gathers leading figures of global cinema. The organizers noted that the film promotes understanding of Kazakh traditions and plays an important role in supporting cultural diversity – one of UNESCO’s key priorities. Earlier, «Bauryna salu» was approved for an Oscar nomination. Altogether, four Kazakh films were presented at the Cinema Heritage Festival.
