A service for the secure exchange of official information will be launched in Kazakhstan this autumn. Employees of government agencies and quasi-public organizations will be required to switch to the national messenger AITU by September 15. The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry assures that there will be no restrictions on personal use of other platforms, including WhatsApp and Telegram. AITU is designed to serve exclusively as the main tool for business correspondence, work chats, operational notifications, and interaction with government digital platforms. The system is convenient for both file sharing and communication. Data centers located in Kazakhstan will be responsible for information security. AITU already provides access to official news from the Akorda presidential palace, and also offers services such as eOtinish, movie ticket purchases, video streaming, and audiobooks. Notably, the switch to the national messenger was instructed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
«AITU is not just a messenger; it
is a full-fledged super app. It integrates with eOtinish and certain government
services. The super app also features entertainment, educational, and news
content feeds, allowing users to listen to music, watch videos, and use
artificial intelligence services directly within the app. All data stored in
the app is kept within Kazakhstan and is therefore subject to the country’s laws,»
noted Rustam Sagynbek, head of the
department at the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and
Aerospace Industry.
