President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is confidently strengthening Kazakhstan’s position on the international stage and shaping a
strong brand not only for the country itself
but for the entire Central Asian region, according to French political
scientist Emmanuel Dupuy. The expert notes
that this fall, the Head of State held meetings with three world leaders – in
Beijing, Washington, and Moscow – which is shaping a new foreign policy
architecture for Kazakhstan. Dupuy emphasized that
what is emerging is what he calls «Kazakhstan 2.0» – a modern leader and a driver
of development for all of Central Asia.
«The order in which Kazakhstan’s President has seen with the three of them is more likely significant. First of all, because President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a very fruitful meeting with Donald Trump in the United States, with the joining of Kazakhstan to the Abraham Accords. After that he was invited to join President Putin in Russia. The actual President of Kazakhstan is understanding what is the brand of the country and what is the image of the country. Again, a new center, this is I think what he mentioned a few days ago after the meeting with Estonian President, a so-called new center of attraction and, of course, launching interconnectivity or bridges on both civilizational, cultural, education and, of course, not to forget trade and logistics,» said Dupuy, who is also the President of the Institute for Prospective and Security in Europe, France.
