Digital and AI solutions for monitoring the condition of the Caspian Sea using drones, technologies to protect the state border, and systems for monitoring strategically important facilities were among the key topics discussed at an international meeting of IT and defense companies in Astana. The event also brought together representatives of government agencies, the quasi-public sector, regional administrations, and defense enterprises. According to participants, Kazakhstan plans to launch domestic production of its own equipment, with the localization rate expected to reach 85% over the next three years. At the same time, local specialists will be trained to work with advanced digital technologies.
«This
includes a range of sensors used for these purposes. Naturally, all of this is
analyzed by AI. Software has been developed, for example, to monitor changes in
the climate and water bodies. The information is then transmitted to the center
for further processing,» said Yerzhan Kalmatayev, representative of an international
consortium partner company.
