A new type of visa will appear in
Kazakhstan. The country’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and
Aerospace Industry is currently discussing the development of a special permit
for digital nomads. The ministry notes that the Digital Nomad Visa will make it
easier to attract international specialists from near and far abroad to develop
the country’s IT market. It also stimulates the return of highly qualified
personnel with valuable knowledge and skills not only in the digital sphere but
also in science, education, healthcare, industry, sports and culture. It is
worth reminding that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set a task to bring
the export of IT services to $1 billion by 2026. Besides, the country should
become an information technology center with a developed creative economy.
“To date, the ministry is actively working to
create conditions for the relocation and stay of IT
specialists and valuable personnel in this field. In view of current
realities, the creation of the given visa enables significant advantages for
Kazakhstan’s modern economy. It bears noting that the country is now
experiencing rapid growth in the IT sector, attracting an increasing number of international
companies and tech giants to organize their work. Therefore, there is a high
demand for IT specialists,” said Alisher Shomanov, the spokesperson for the Kazakh
Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry.
