Kazakhstan ranks higher among EAEU and Central Asian countries in ESG Index

Kazakhstan ranked 51 in the ESG Index (ESGI), surpassing all the other EAEU and Central Asian countries. This means that a growing number of companies in the country are integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into their corporate strategies, according to the Energyprom.kz portal. In addition, ESG indicators are becoming one of the main criteria for modern investors. Thus, the 2020 survey showed that almost three-quarters of investors worldwide want to make a social impact through their projects. It bears noting that the ESGI covers 179 countries. The top-ranking ones are Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
