Kazakh PM discusses Karachaganak and Kashagan joint projects with Eni company

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Upstream Director at Eni, an Italian energy company, Luca Vignati discussed joint work at the Karachaganak and Kashagan fields and the launch of new renewable energy projects. The parties noted the systematic implementation of the Karachaganak expansion project. Additional gas reinjection compressors are being installed to maintain production at the level of 11 million tonnes per year. The work on the construction project of a gas processing plant with a capacity of four billion cubic meters is now underway. Comprehensive development of Kashagan is also under special control of the Kazakh government. Successful cooperation is carried out in the field of alternative energy. Thus, wind power plants have been commissioned in the Aktobe region and a solar power plant in the Turkistan region. In general, there are plans for joint construction of a hybrid power plant.
