Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas
Bektenov and Upstream Director at Eni, an Italian energy company, Luca Vignati
discussed joint work at the Karachaganak and Kashagan fields and the launch of
new renewable energy projects. The parties noted the systematic implementation
of the Karachaganak expansion project. Additional gas reinjection compressors
are being installed to maintain production at the level of 11 million tonnes
per year. The work on the construction project of a gas processing plant with a
capacity of four billion cubic meters is now underway. Comprehensive
development of Kashagan is also under special control of the Kazakh government.
Successful cooperation is carried out in the field of alternative energy. Thus,
wind power plants have been commissioned in the Aktobe region and a solar power
plant in the Turkistan region. In general, there are plans for joint
construction of a hybrid power plant.
