Kazakhstan is becoming the most crucial land corridor between Asia and Europe due to the country’s location in the heart of Eurasia. Therefore, developing the transport and logistics sector is a strategic priority for Kazakhstan. This was outlined in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state-of-the-nation address. One of the major projects in this direction is now underway in the Mangystau region. Thus, a container hub will be established at the Aktau seaport, enabling to create an infrastructure to provide a range of services for the processing and shipment of container cargo along various routes, including the North-South corridors and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. It will also allow to build a container fleet for the Caspian and Central Asian countries. Notably, the first phase is set to be completed in 2025.
