The Astana Ballet Theatre is set to showcase the finest productions of Kazakh traditional and contemporary choreographic art on the stage of the grand cultural center in Geneva. The troupe from the capital’s theater will perform on tour in Switzerland to celebrate Kazakhstan’s Independence Day. The concert program features the iconic ‘Carmen Suite’ by Alberto Alonso, an original one-act ballet titled ‘The Arcana of Fate’, and a gala concert ‘The Heritage of the Great Steppe’. Each performance will be accompanied by visual and artistic effects, vibrant settings, and colorful costumes.
“As we prepared for our tour in
Switzerland, we thought about presenting to the audience in Geneva something
impressive and globally acclaimed. Thus, we chose to stage the iconic ballet
‘Carmen Suite’ by Alberto Alonso. Additionally, we wanted to showcase the
production created by our choreographers. First of all, tours are an exchange
of experiences and cultural traditions, and Geneva is a new place for us as
creative artists. Dancing on the stage of a renowned cultural center is both
thrilling and a great responsibility. I am sure that our ballet artists and
orchestra musicians will captivate the hearts of the Swiss audience, and
success undoubtedly awaits them,” Nurlan Kanetov, artistic director of the Astana
Ballet Theatre, said.
It is worth noting that the
Astana Ballet Theatre team has performed on numerous prestigious stages
worldwide. The artistry and skills of Kazakh artists have garnered acclaim from
audiences in China, France, Austria, South Korea, Hungary, Azerbaijan, the
U.S., Japan, and Poland.
