Abai’s legacy knows no boundaries! An issue of a scientific journal in Azerbaijan was dedicated to the work of the great Kazakh poet. Nizami Ganjavi Literature Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was the initiator. Researchers note that Abai’s works are a remarkable phenomenon of the world literary process. The issue includes 25 articles written by scientists who read Abai’s works from the perspective of a comparative literature.
“Turkic and Kazakh literature is actively studied at our institute, and their research is a priority for us. Over the last year, several monographs dedicated to works of Abai Kunanbaiuly, Mukhtar Auezov have been released, and dissertations have been written about Oralkhan Bokeyev, literary ties of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the modern period. These articles entered the international indexing base. This makes it possible to get acquainted with them in electronic format as well,” said Mehman Gasanly, Academic Secretary at Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature.
