Coal Industry Forum held in Astana

Coal chemistry is expected to become one of the key sectors of Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry, with the potential to generate tens of billions of dollars. The country has all the necessary conditions: over 100 million tonnes of coal are mined annually, and Kazakhstan ranks among the world’s top ten countries in terms of coal reserves. Experts at the Coal Industry Forum in Astana emphasized that improving the efficiency of coal use requires the adoption of advanced technologies, the conduct of scientific research, and, most importantly, the establishment of a dedicated analytical center for the development of coal chemistry. The forum brought together industry specialists, experts, and scientists from Kazakhstan and abroad.

«We plan to process coal locally and establish coal chemical enterprises. Our coal can be used to produce around 300 types of pharmaceutical, chemical, and other products. We already have investors working with us. Over the past two to three years, several coke-chemical facilities have been built in Kazakhstan. New coal-fired plants will be constructed using advanced technologies that comply with environmental standards,» said Nikolay Radostovets, Executive Director of the National Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises.

As part of the forum, an international specialized exhibition was held, showcasing products and the latest developments aimed at increasing the productivity of the mining and metallurgical complex. Among the exhibits was a platform designed to improve work planning for geologists, mining engineers, and designers. This solution focuses on automating and optimizing production processes.

«We are a company with a presence in 124 countries, including an office in Almaty. We provide software solutions across various industries, including mining. Our solutions are also used in mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, and aerospace,» said Rustam Akhmetkaliyev, representative of a software development company for mining enterprises.
