The grain harvest in Kazakhstan is nearing completion. As of today, over 17 million hectares have already been harvested, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. This year, the total area of agricultural crops amounted to 24 million hectares, which is 652,000 hectares more compared to 2022. Local authorities report that 11.5 million tonnes of wheat have been threshed. Farmers have harvested oilseeds from over two million hectares of land, including more than 943,000 tonnes of sunflower. The potato harvest is also complete. It is worth noting that in the first eight months of this year, wheat exports from Kazakhstan reached $1.36 billion, marking a 23 percent increase compared to the previous year. This represents the highest amount for this period, at least since 2011.
