Kazakhstan plans to
revitalize the dried bed of the Aral Sea using innovative technology developed
by Chinese scientists. Researchers have already collected soil samples and are
working on the project. Experts will use a special reagent to impart water-retaining
properties to the soil. This could potentially transform the desert areas of
the Aral Sea into a green oasis. The Chinese scientists’ invention, which has
already been successfully tested in other locations, is expected to be
implemented in the Aral Sea starting early next spring, with results
anticipated within two years. Representatives from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry
met with the Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan at the new genetic laboratory in
Astana to discuss the project and promote bilateral cooperation.
«They select the soil and choose the
appropriate reagents for it. This is a scientific breakthrough, set to be
applied and showcased in Kazakhstan. If in the future scientists from both
countries collaborate on this project, it will provide a significant boost to
Kazakh science,» said Gabidulla
Ospankulov, chairman of the committee at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
«We also plan to carry out extensive work on
personnel training. Young scientists and promising specialists, who have proven
themselves well in their industry over the years, are set to undergo training
in China,» noted Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao.
