President of China Xi Jinping has arrived in Astana for a
visit. From the moment his plane entered Kazakhstan’s airspace until it landed
at the capital’s airport, it was escorted by fighter jets of the country’s air
defense forces. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally welcomed Xi Jinping
at the airport. An honor guard company was lined up at the aircraft ramp, and
children greeted the distinguished guest with flags of Kazakhstan and China.
At the terminal of the capital’s airport, children welcomed
President Xi Jinping in Kazakh and Chinese. Traditional dances of both nations
were also performed.
Later, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warmly welcomed the Chinese
President at the Akorda presidential palace. The two sides held talks.
