Every citizen who will not be able to cast their vote at the polling station at the place of his or her resident registration has the right to submit an application to the local executive bodies and register at one of the polling stations at the place of his or her actual location. But citizens must do this no later than a month prior to the Election Day, the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan announced. Such a right can be used by citizens working on a rotational basis and non-resident students living outside the dormitories. It also applies to citizens who know in advance that they will not be able to be at the place of registration on the Election Day. The CEC noted that citizens can check whether they are included in the voter rolls at the place of registration through the website or call center of the respective mayor’s or governor's office.
