In Kazakhstan, cancer screening will be available to all
citizens, regardless of insurance status. It is set to be included in the list
of services covered under the guaranteed package of free medical care. This
will enable the early detection of cancer, helping to protect the health and
lives of Kazakh citizens. The amendments are expected to benefit 3.5 million
people. These and other new measures are part of a package of amendments to the
draft law on healthcare, the gambling industry, and the reduction of excessive
legislative regulation. The Mazhilis, a lower house of the Kazakh Parliament,
adopted the document in the second reading. Certain provisions also grant
research institutes the right to independently train medical residents and, in
specialized fields, jointly prepare doctoral students with medical
universities. The document has been sent to the Senate for consideration.
«Lawmakers introduced amendments aimed at providing social
support to persons with hearing impairments. Under these amendments, those who
do not qualify for disability status based on medical criteria will receive
hearing aids from local administrations, funded by local budgets. As part of
the work on the bill, MPs also introduced amendments to tighten regulations on
the advertising of bookmakers or totalizators,» Mazhilis member Daulet Mukayev
said.
