One of Kazakhstan's leading pharmaceutical
manufacturers is set to produce anti-cancer drugs. This was announced at the fourth
International Pharmaceutical Forum «GLOBAL PHARM» in Astana. According to the
company's management, plans are in place to launch another production facility
for this purpose, with commissioning scheduled for December. The project will
meet the needs of the domestic market and increase the export of medications
abroad. Notably, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev previously instructed that the
share of domestic production in the pharmaceutical market be increased to 50
percent.
«We are responsible for providing
Kazakhstan with medications. We view this not just as production but as our
responsibility. The message we want to convey is that we are pleased to take on
this responsibility and support it through the localization that is taking
place. With regard to the Head of State’s order to achieve 50 percent local
production, we have not reached this yet, but we are on the right path to
getting closer to it by 2029-2030,» noted the CEO of the pharmaceutical company
Adam Aleksiejuk.
