Beekeepers’ forum held in Taraz

The promotion of Kazakh honey in foreign markets was discussed at a beekeepers’ forum in Taraz. Experts noted that in order to increase the volume of domestic product exports, it is necessary to boost the bee population. At the same time, it is important to introduce new breeding methods. During the meeting, experts shared advanced honey- harvesting technologies. Participants also raised the issue of training young professionals in the agricultural sector. The beekeepers also organized a mini fair, where they showcased their healthy, locally made products to interested visitors.

«Kazakhstan ranks ninth in the world by land area, providing strong potential for beekeeping across the country. Today, over 200,000 species of honey plants are known, which is more than enough for honey production. According to statistics, East Kazakhstan leads in honey output, with beekeeping also well developed in the south and in the Zhambyl region,» said Ulzhan Nuraliyeva, Senior Research Fellow at the Kazakh Research Institute of Livestock and Fodder Production.
